Oct. 14, Got new bunnies. Ann and Annabelle Ward were really nice.
Oct. 21, 2007 Its my birthday- I got grooming tools, little rabbit figurines(I'm starting "pretend" rabbit
collection as well), and rabbit clothes (that's for me with rabbits on it - not for rabbits)
Oct. 27, 2007- I was Alice in Wonderland for the 4-H Halloween carnival. I won most original!
That's me the next day with my "real white rabbit" a.k.a. Krispy Kreme
November 17, 2007- Went to my very first rabbit show. We were totally lost but with the help of
new friends (isn't it nice to compete against someone who is friendly?) we managed to find our way. Also brought
home two new bunny babies- a brother and sister fuzzy lop from The Bunny Shak(Horne's)
November 18, 2007- Share the Fun today- Mom neglected to tell me they were giving out ribbons- but I sang "If
I only had a brain" and won 1st! Going on to District in December. P.S. We think maybe we got Ebony bred to
Batman- but only time will tell.
Nov. 19, 2007-We think we got Leo breed to Della.
Nov. 24, 2007-We went to a double show in the first show we did alright but in second show Shiraz won Best Of Breed!
My sister bought dragon.
Nov. 25, 2007- I breed Shiraz to Montoya and Dragon to Krispy Kreme.
Dec. 1, 2007-Went to district Share the fun and won 2nd.
Dec. 9 - 10, 2007-Glad I put insulation. been icing and raining and the water bottle have not frozen yet!
Dec. 20, 2007- Della had 5 bunnys
Dec. 26, 2007-Shiraz had babies they were to big so they died. Krispy Kreme had 3.
Dec. 30, 2007-Krispy Kreme's were too small they died. They were her first babies and she had a hard time figuring
out that the nest box was the best place to build a nest. Della's are fat and healthy tho.
Jan 1, 2008 Rebred Krispy Kreme and Dragon
Jan. 2, 2008-Really cold last nite- stock tanks were frozen half an inch thick- still no ice in the rabbitry bottles
WOO HOO! Met the Horne's at Ringwood and got a Fuzzy Lop buck named Navy.
Jan. 12, 2008- We went to a fun show in Wichita.
I took part in a rabbit quiz bowl- missed 1st place in my age/level by one point.
 
then attended a clinic on showmanship, and got to practice my showmanship afterward.
The people were very nice- made us start thinking about a fiber festival here at the house.
Jan. 21, 2008- Ebony had babies- unfortunately we did not think she was bred (which proves we are not good at palpataing
bunnies yet!) so there was no nestbox in with her and they got too cold before we found them. We lost the whole
litter of 6, but at least we now know she is breedable.
Jan 25- out of school today- we went to several local businesses with our plans for a fiber festival, and got some
donation to help get us started.
Jan. 31, 2008- Waiting for babys! Krispy looks funny building her nest.
Feb. 1, 2008- Krispy had babys!
Feb. 2, 2008- Krispy's bunnys died still not sure what killed them. We made sure she nursed them
this morning,and then took the nest box out because she takes them out. We think they might have got too hot. Now
we wait for Shiraz.
Feb.25, 2008- Seems like forever since updating- Our webhost moved servers which required a week to get all the
sites they host moved. Expecting baby bunnies this week- hope the weather stays decent.
Feb.28,2008- Aleah had 6 babys.
March 2, 2008-One of Aleahs babys got eaten.
March 8, 2008-We went to a show did pretty good 4 1sts 6 2nds 3 3rds 1 DQ on Lex because not enough color an other
judge gave him 1st. His spots dont show up well.
March 26, 2008- We bred Shiraz to Navy again. They make such CUTE! babys.
March 27. 2008-have not wrote in my blog for a while. kk had 2 fat babies on the 18 of march. I think they will
be REWS. We finally have electricity so I can see. Gramps and Papa put in the new line Easter Sunday. And Mama
found an old blower! It belonged to her and Uncle Jayme when they raised sheep. It makes grooming so much easier,but
some of them don't like it. Most of them preferred it to a comb. By the way did I tell you I got another bunny
from the Wards. You can see her on my does page.
April 12, 2008-Fontana had 4 bebes one a runt.
April 13, 2008-One of the babys died, not the runt. I bred Ebony and Aleah
April 17, 2008-We cleaned the rabbit house. Spring cleaning. Top to bottom. I am not making a hyperbyle we scrubbed
the cages and everything it was work.
April 19, 2008- the fiber festival was a great sucessAnnabelle Ward was there,we tied dyed wool,we felted balls,
made drop spindles it was fun!!!!! I give my prize winning speech on rabbit showmanship.:D
May 14, 2008-I have not wrote for a while. We built a set of cage racks and planted a garden in front of my rabbitry
. Della had 1 lone little baby. We have 2 expecting any day now. And also 2 for sale.
May 16, 2008-aleah had 6 babys. I will name one berniece after my moms old 4-h teacher and a lady in our chuch
it's her birthday too! She is 98!
May 21, 2008-My mom made me build a cage on my own. It takes practice getting the clips on right. Until now I have
just clipped off the sharp ends and handed her stuff.
May 22, 2008-Tattoed 9 bunn-bunns.
May 26, 2008 Re-tattoed buns, this time we rubbed extra ink in really good over the tattoo punctures. Hopefully
we got it deep enough this time. Made a cage for Erastabulus, and painted on the "new" side of the rabbit
barn- soon we'll have another room. Erastabulus was really happy to get a "big cage". Yesterday we cleaned
pans, and let all the does down on the floor to play- it was bunny happy land. For some reason all the juniors
are fascinated with Ebony's ground level cage- they run around and jump into it- it was bad when we put Ebony back
up and closed the door. Piggy made a flying leap before she realized the cage door was closed! and smacked right
into it. That's one way to get a flat nose on a fuzzy lop (haa haa!) Poor Piggy, she bounced right back and didn't
seem to hurt her a bit.
June 5, 2008-Sorry I have not written for a while. My website host had some issues Shiraz had 7 bebes 1 was a peanut
and died and 1 was stillborn.
June 17, 2008-shiraz stopped giving as much milk( the babys were awfully thin), so we added calf mana and oatmeal
to her feed
June 21, 2008-I did pretty well at the show K.K. got her 3rd leg so we registered her. We got 2 new rabbits.
June 24, 2008- Shiraz's babies are gaining weight and eating solid food. Aleah's babies are getting weaned.
June 26, 2008-Fleas! My sister had been taking bunnys for a walk outside which gave them fleas(only 3 were exposed)
we got some some medicine $46 for 4 treatments
July 3, 2008- Della had one baby. Weird she had it on the wire and without pulling any wool.
4th of July!-Della had 5 more babys. one was stillborn. But this time she had them in the nestbox and pulled wool.
July 16, 2008-We didn't think Fontana got bred but she is making a nest. We put a nestbox in just in case. Last
weekend we went to Bartlesville to trade 2 bunnies. The people we traded with were really nice-the buck I had
chosen over the internet,it's ears were getting to big. So they brought another one so I could chose. that was
really nice of them.
